Expertise & Profile

Advocacy & Support
Since 2022, Jesslyn's work has focused extensively on documenting doctrinal changes, systemic harms, organizational practices, and allegations of institutional misconduct.
She has assisted, supported, and communicated with more than 2,000 survivors of abuse and has completed more than 300 hours of advocacy-focused training.
Her experience has included survivor advocacy, children's advocacy, trial advocacy, trial journalism, investigative research, whistleblower-related support, source development, outreach, and the documentation of sensitive and complex cases.
Her work combines investigative research with a survivor-informed approach, Interviews, Recordings, and documentary output emphasizing careful documentation, source verification, confidentiality, emotional safety, and responsible communication. She has experience working with survivors, witnesses, advocates, investigators, legal professionals, and other sources to help identify patterns, develop leads, organize records, and bring greater clarity to complex institutional issues.
As a survivor of cult abuse herself, Jesslyn also brings firsthand understanding of the fear, isolation, confusion, family disruption, loss of community, and identity challenges that can accompany leaving a high-control environment. That lived experience informs the compassion and awareness she brings to her work without replacing careful documentation, objective research, source verification, or professional investigative standards.
Her goal is to create an environment in which survivors are treated as people first. Not simply as sources, witnesses, or case files, while ensuring that investigative work remains thorough, responsible, and evidence-driven.
"I believe in the power of truth and the strength of community. My mission is to provide a safe space for survivors to find clarity and reclaim their narrative through professional advocacy and investigative research." -Jesslyn Alice
